This is the second time around for Pastor Bob serving as Benson Baptist’s interim pastor. Previously, he served the congregation from June, 2016 through May, 2017. He and his wife, Diane, are pleased be back “home” at Benson to assist in the transition to a new permanent pastor.
Bob currently serves as a full-time chaplain in Southwest Iowa with Hospice of the Midwest through an office in Glenwood, a position he started in January of 2022. While hospice work can be challenging, Bob finds working with people in crisis to be very rewarding.
Pastor Bob’s tenth anniversary as a senior pastor will be August of this year. Previously, he served as a full-time worship pastor and worship professor for over 25 years. He still remains engaged in worship renewal as an adjunct faculty member at Northern Seminary in Chicago and serves as the General Editor of Webber Institute Books, an academic imprint of The Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies.
Bob’s a regular guy, though. He loves to go catfishing with stink-bait, mess around in his vegetable garden, is a hack golfer, and, if he can ever find the time, loves to sail his little wooden boat. Bob is married to his ever-popular wife, Diane, with whom he as two wonderful grown children, four grandkids, and one really cute great-grandson.
